A central Ohio health district is investigating a probable cluster of mumps cases after two cases were reported in one school building, in addition to 25 more cases in the county.
Mobile DTV on the horizon
There was an announcement today that the Advanced TV Systems Committee had approved the standard for Mobile Digital Television. This is a huge step in that now manufacturers can start build mobile devices that include the Mobile DTV chip. Imagine watching full motion, high quality WOSU programming on your netbook, laptop or even cell phone in the future without any buffering or glitches, because the signal bypasses the Internet and goes straight into your mobile device. WOSU plans to set aside a small amount of its digital bandwidth to experiment with Mobile DTV soon.
Our goal, as always, is to provide educational, non-commercial programming where our audience goes…and that could be the back seat of your minivan, where we can provide broadcast children’s programming on your built-in TV! Stay tuned.
