Finally on July 4 the Confederates surrender Vicksburg to Grant. The western campaign  moved east to Chickamauga.  If you miss Monday nights episode be sure to catch one of the encore presentations Tuesday 2am on WOSU TV  or 10pm on WOSU PLUS.

Al Capone and Escort.

Tuesday is gangster night on WOSU TV. The evening begins at 8pm with Al Capone: Icon.  I don’t think you’ll find too many folks out there who don’t know the name Al Capone.  In his heyday the meer mention of Al Capone’s name sparked fear and admiration, in certain sects of the population.

More than 80 years after the height of his power, Al Capone: Icon explores Capone’s continued impact on American culture and tries to find out why people are still so fascinated by this gangster.

History Detectives Special Investigations continues the evenings gangster theme with a report on who killed Jimmy Hoffa.  To refresh your memories, Teamsters president Jimmy Hoffa went missing in July 1975 never to be found.  The program will explore Hoffa’s final days and hours.
