The fired Ohio State University marching band director says he was working to change a culture of hazing and inappropriate rituals among members when he was dismissed.
The Bletchley Circle is Back
When THE BLETCHLEY CIRCLE aired this past spring it got off to a slow start on WOSU TV. By the time viewers happened upon it or heard about it from friends the series was just about over. Not surprisingly, shortly after the last episode aired, I started to hear from viewers asking us to air the program again. If you missed part or all of THE BLETCHLEY CIRCLE , this Sunday evening at 8pm you will have the chance to catch the program from the very beginning.
For those of you who haven’t heard THE BLETCHLEY CIRCLE is a mystery involving four friends. Susan, Millie, Lucy and Jean are ordinary women with an extraordinary ability to break codes. A skill honed during World War II when they worked undercover at Bletchley Park, site of the United Kingdom’s main decryption establishment. The story takes place in 1952 and the four have returned to civilian life, keeping their intelligence work secret from all, including family and friends. A series of ghastly murders targeting women reunites the team and they set out to decode the pattern behind the crimes.
It’s a wonderfully captivating program that attracted enough viewers in Great Britain, and here in America, for the BBC to produce a second season of the program. Look for the premiere of THE BLETCHLEY CIRCLE season two to air on WOSU TV in 2014.
THE BLETCHLEY CIRCLE airs Sunday evenings at 8pm, beginning August 18, on WOSU TV. An additional encore presentation can be seen Monday evenings at 8pm, beginning August 19, on WOSU PLUS.
