The Democratic candidate for Ohio governor has released a statement from members of an Irish delegation calling a situation with a female delegate and the candidate an ‘innocuous incident.’ The statement from the campaign of Ed FitzGerald says FitzGerald was driving delegate Joanne Grehan back to her hotel in 2012 at the delegation’s request when [...]
Columbus on the Record Moves to 7:30 pm Friday Nights
Our new Friday night schedule will keep you informed
I hope you’ve been enjoying all the great programs WOSU TV airs Monday through Friday at 7:30pm. I know we’re really happy to bring you two fantastic local programs during that time every week: In The Know on Tuesday nights and Broad & High on Wednesday nights. So, we’re very excited to announce our award-winning local public affairs program Columbus on the Record, joins the 7:30pm lineup on Friday nights beginning April 18.
I’ve been very happy with the response we’ve received from our viewers about all the programs we’re airing weeknights at 7:30pm. The general consensus is we’re providing a quality alternative for our local audience during that time and we feel Columbus on the Record will be a perfect addition.
A couple of years ago, PBS announced a new emphasis on arts programming and created the “PBS Arts Festival” programming block for Friday night. WOSU TV is committed to arts programming but this new initiative created a bit of a dilemma for us. We had a strong public affairs block of programming on Friday night. The new schedule meant some of those programs were moved or taken off the schedule. If you’re a fan of The McLaughlin Group I’m sure you remember the exact week that program was shifted to Sunday morning.
The move to 7:30 pm for Columbus on the Record finally gives us the chance to bring back that solid block of public affairs programming and will be a great leadoff for the evening. Washington Week with Gwen Ifill will continue to air at 8 pm and The McLaughlin Group comes back to Friday nights airing at 8:30 pm. We’re looking forward to being able to bring you all these great programs back-to-back.
If you’re a fan of Friday night’s Rick Steves’ Europe you’ll still have the chance to travel with Rick during the week, you just need to travel over to Tuesday night to get your fix.
I really hope you’ll find this new Friday night lineup keeps you informed on all the latest news, and gets you ready for the weekend.
