Celebrating Queen Elizabeth
As the world waits anxiously for the birth of a future British monarch, WOSU TV will celebrate the current monarch Queen Elizabeth during this week’s SUNDAY SHOWCASE.
We’ll begin at 3pm with a profile on the longest-serving consort in British history, Prince Philip. Philip has been at Queen Elizabeth’s side for nearly 60 years. Next it’s a loving, and very personal, tribute to the Queen from Prince Charles and other members of the Royal Family. ROYAL MEMORIES: PRINCE CHARLES TRIBUTE TO THE QUEEN contains previously unseen photographs and home movies, some of which were shot by the Queen herself.
We finish up the SUNDAY SHOWCASE with a three-part series on The Queen’s reign titled THE DIAMOND QUEEN. Last year marked the first time in modern history that a monarch reached their Diamond Jubilee. To mark this special occasion the BBC put together a three-part documentary giving us a definitive analysis of Queen Elizabeth’s reign. Featuring interviews with prime ministers, world leaders and members of the Royal Family,we get a look at Queen Elizabeth’s early life, her moves to modernize the monarchy and finally the Queen’s working engagements around the world for the period of more than a year and a half.
It’s all things royal on this week’s SUNDAY SHOWCASE, beginning Sunday, July 21 at 3pm on WOSU TV.
