Holiday moods often run the gamut between joy and melancholy. And, an Ohio State University researcher says an individual’s great expectations have a bearing on whether someone smiles or frowns. College of Social Work Professor, Gilbert Greene, says the key is to identify whether stress is likely to help or hurt one’s mood.
Calling All Inspector Morse Fans!
“Masterpiece Mystery” begins a new season on Sunday with a different spin on a very familiar Detective. The Inspector Morse series was one of the most popular in the “Masterpiece Mystery” catalogue. Viewers were crushed when in the last episode, adapted from the final novel, The Remorseful Day, Morse dies. Alas, not all was lost when “Masterpiece Mystery” picked up the Inspector Lewis series and Morse fans could feel connected to him through his intrepid partner Lewis. Who seems to have picked up some of Morse’s traits. Well it looks as though “Masterpiece Mystery” is at it again! However now we’re moving back in time.
For those of you not as familiar with the whole story, before Inspector Lewis, there was Inspector Morse, and before Inspector Morse, there was the rookie Constable Morse. In “Masterpiece Mystery: Endeavour” Constable Morse is fed up with police work and ready to nip his career in the bud by handing in his resignation. That is, until a murder turned up that only he could solve. Shaun Evans stars as the young Morse, before his signature red Jaguar but with his deductive powers already running in high gear. Oh and one more thing, who knows what Endeavour is? If you’re a Morse fan this should be an easy question, if not pay attention to the opening introduction.
“Masterpiece Mystery: Endeavour” airs Sunday, July 1 at 9pm on WOSU TV with an encore presentation Monday, July 2 at 9pm on WOSU PLUS.
