After waking up before dawn for 30 years and flying every week to Chicago for the past 15, Carl Kasell has announced heâ€™s stepping down this spring after a five-decade career in broadcasting. Carl will record his final broadcast for Wait Waitâ€¦ Donâ€™t Tell Me! this spring. Wait Wait airs every Saturday on 89.7 NPR News at 11 am.

WOSU listeners – I’m passing on the unfortunate news of the resignation of Gary Knell as President and CEO of NPR. Gary has been a dynamic leader for NPR, but is leaving after two years with the network. He will be missed. I wanted to share a portion of his letter to NPR stations today.
It was an unprecedented day of breaking news last Friday after a night of violence and chaos in Boston.Â WOSU’sÂ 89.7 NPR News provided live programming from NPR and the Boston NPR affiliate WBUR throughout the day and into the night.Â
Like most of America, public radio stations learned this morning that the over two decade run ofÂ Talk of the Nation will end in a few months. WOSU will be considering all options in replacing the program, which airs from 2-4 pm daily on 89.7 FM.
Last Friday night, the NPR program From The Top came to the McCoy Center for the Arts in New Albany. WOSU was the media sponsor for the evening.Â
