ALL SIDES premieres on WOSU

| September 4, 2009 | 7 Comments

WOSU is thrilled to announce the premiere of ALL SIDES WITH ANN FISHER next Tuesday on WOSU 820 AM. As many of you know Ann was a columnist and reporter at the Columbus Dispatch for many years and brings to this talk host position a deep knowledge of the community. We expect the program to be a bit different from Open Line with Fred Andrle, which held this timeslot for over two decades. For one thing, we’ll be featuring Ann’s work more often on the web and through television. And, we will be very responsive to current news in Columbus.

It’s always fun to roll something new out and see how it evolves and that’s the case here. ALL SIDES WITH ANN FISHER at 10 am next Tuesday with a repeat (the show I always hear) at 7 pm brings a new voice to the Columbus airwaves. We couldn’t be more pleased with our choice!

This person is the worst hire in the history of WOSU AM.
Please get rid of her and hire someone who is pleasant and interesting.
We now turn off OSU AM when “All Sides” comes on. Its not worth listening to

I agree with Linda S., above. Ann is very thinly prepared for her topics. She did not do her research as a reporter, and she is not doing her research as a radio host. Her show is boring and pedestrian. I hate having to switch the channel. WOSU was my best choice after my progressive radio station went off the air. However, I find that I can barely stand to listen. I always listened to Fred. No one can fill his shoes, but even the subs have been far better than Ann. She is not up to snuff!

    Linda and Leesa,

I understand it is a matter of taste, but please keep listening. There is no other local talk program like ALL SIDES in Columbus and we are very proud to have Ann at WOSU and pleased with her progress on WOSU Radio. Thanks for the comments.

Tom: The concept for All Sides may be unique in the market and could be entertaining/informative with the right host. I have continued to listen because I am often in the car during the broadcast. You may say it is a matter of taste, but I find Ann’s lack of intellectual depth to be below the standards I have come to expect from WOSU. You say you are pleased and proud to have Ann on board, but I am not sure why. I am wondering if she has a permanent contract now or if this is a trial period. I hope for better programming in the future. Meanwhile, I mostly switch over to WCBE. Thanks for your reply.
