Missing Teen Found In Hilltop Leads Police To Bodies Of Others

Authorities in northwest Ohio say one of the three teens reported missing yesterday has been found at a West Columbus gas station and pointed police to the bodies of the other two.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office says 17-year-old Michael Fey was found Thursday in the parking lot of a gas station in the Hilltop neighborhood. Police say he then told authorities where they could find the bodies of Blake Romes, 17, and his brother Blaine Romes, 14.

No cause of death was immediately known.

An Amber Albert was issued for all three teens on Thursday after police say a mother returned home to find “a crime scene.”

Missing Girl Found Living In Foster Care Under Fake Name

A 15-year-old Columbus girl thought to be missing for three weeks has been found safe.

On Sunday afternoon, Columbus Police sent out an alert saying Chantasja Silva was last seen December 4th at West High School. Her mother told police is was like her daughter vanished, and Silva’s picture was added to listings on the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children website.

Now police say Silva was arrested for shoplifting some time during her disappearance, but supplied a fake name and was living in foster care. Her foster mother called police after seeing her picture on TV.

Police and Franklin County Children Services did not respond to phone calls.

Judge Refuses To Block Homeless Shelter

A Franklin County judge has refused to block the opening of an overflow homeless shelter that’s planned for a building that sits next to a day care center.

Owners of Creative Child Care argued county leaders violated the law by letting the community shelter board take over the property near Georgesville Road and Sullivant Avenue in West Columbus.

Franklin County Common Pleas Judge John Bessey on Monday declined to issue a preliminary injunction.

The child care center had argued that the county violated laws or procedures by allowing the shelter board to take over the rezoned property. Day-care officials say they are sympathetic, but think the shelter would endanger children and hurt their business.
