Dr. Michelle Gonzalez has an office in Dublin but she sees patients all over the state. In March, Gonzalez began operating RASCAL, a surgical animal hospital on wheels. Since the first clinic last April, Gonzalez has sterilized about 3,500 cats and dogs. She goes to places where residents don’t make much money or where there’s a shortage of veterinary care.

An American flag carried by a Columbus-based regiment during the Civil War has returned home. The 6-foot-square stars and stripes was used by the 58th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. It went missing from the Adjutant General’s collection sometime during the 1960s and was recently discovered in the possession of a collector in Maine.

“Miss Buckeye” Restored and Ready For Concert

“Miss Buckeye” entertained thousands of Central Ohioans during the 1920′s and 1930′s when she played the Palace Theatre on West Broad Street. With the help of some friends and some tax deductible donations, the Mighty Wurlitzer Style 260 Theatre Pipe Organ has been mostly restored. Her new home is the Thomas Worthington High School Auditorium and next week “Miss Buckeye” will be ready to entertain a new generation of fans.
