The New Albany levy, however, could sway to the loss column after provisional ballots are counted. Unofficial results say it’s leaning to the “yes” column by just 40 votes.

The Upper Arlington schools tax levy lost big with 11,641 votes again the levy and 9,578 votes for the measure.

Dublin schools’ tax levy passed with 18,164 votes for the measure, while there were 14,605 votes against the levy.

Worthington school successfully passed two issues. The district’s tax levy passed 16,335 yes votes and 14,238 votes against. Worthington’s bond issue passed 18,911 votes to 11,460.

Most of those levies will likely fail based on the history of school issues’ success with voters.

There are 194 school levies up for a vote next month, including 123 requests for extra funding.

The remaining issues are asking voters to renew or continue existing taxes.

Damon Asbury, legislative director of the Ohio School Boards Association, tells the newspaper that asking for new money on the ballot is a hard sell because taxpayers are feeling strapped.
