American Electric Power says about 14,000 customers were still without power early Friday.

Duke Energy said late Thursday a little fewer than 3,000 customers were without power, and Dayton Power & Light said at least 2,000 customers were in the dark.

The storm temporarily shut down operations at the annual State Fair as visitors were asked to take nearby shelter. Spokeswoman Alicia Shoults says rides reopened, and events and concerts were resuming as scheduled.

The storms come just weeks after other storms moving through the state left thousands in the dark.
