How do you think governments and non-profits should help the homeless?
With Ohio’s economy crumbling, charities and non-profit groups are being asked to do more than ever. But, ironically, they may have less money to do their work. That’s because some of the charities’ biggest contributors – giant charitable foundations- are also feeling a financial pinch. There are 3100 charitable foundations across Ohio. George Espy is President of their trade organization – the Ohio Grantmakers Forum. He talked with Ohio Public Radio’s Bill Cohen.
Graduation is approaching for many college seniors and these students are learning the challenges of joining the job market. Many students in this situation may be familiar with career fairs. It’s when big company recruiters talk with graduating seniors. But Otterbein College hosted a different kind of career fair Thursday. The big business executives were replaced by leaders of not-for-profit organizations.
