Columbus is home to more than 80 community gardens where residents turn weed-invested city lots into bountiful crops. Franklin Park Conservatory, the city and others are encouraging the use of vacant lots to grow produce.
The ancient art of stained glass has been practiced for centuries, and Milwaukee-based artist Melissa Janda has been at it for 20 years. She shows us how she combines contemporary painting techniques with traditional stained-glass artistry to illustrate her true love of glass.

Federal agents confiscated a loaded handgun at a Port Columbus checkpoint on Sunday. Its the eleventh time this year a passenger was caught with a firearm inside a carry-on bag. Transportation Security Administration spokesman Mark Howell says agents are also confiscating a smaller less noticeable weapon.
