With harsh cold and snow forecast for much of the state in the next few days, officials in Ohio’s Department of Aging are urging precautions for older people who could be at increased risk of weather-related problems.
Ohio grape growers are still assessing the damage from this past winter’s severe cold weather. Some experienced a total loss of their best crops and are hoping for federal help to plant new grape vines for local wineries.
Although cold weather lingers, hundreds of grape growers and wine makers are exploring new ways to cultivate their best crop. The Ohio Grape and Wine Conference at the 4-H Center is being held on the OSU campus.
