The 47th annual Columbus Arts Festival opens today for a three-day run. The festival is filled with music and poetry. Several hundred artists will display their work in wood, glass, precious metals, tile and pottery, fabrics, painting and photography.
Volunteers at Franklin Park were there early today getting ready for the Asian Festival that’s expected to draw in thousands of people. And this year’s festival will focus on more than just fun. It will be a fund-raising venue for the natural disaster victims in Myanmar and China.
Some of the top blues musicians from places like Chicago and Mississippi will be in Central Ohio this weekend, as the Columbus Blues Alliance Saturday hosts the 13th annual Traditional Acoustic Blues Festival. And as WOSU’s Steve Brown reports, many local musicians will jam along side them.
