Authorities haven’t released many details, but a report says someone broke into a deputy’s home in southwest Fayette county on Tuesday afternoon and stole, among other things, a high-powered assault rifle, two handguns, several badges, and a police radio.

The Sheriff’s Office is not naming the deputy involved because of what they call the sensitivity of the case. They also haven’t publicly named any suspects, but investigators say another home in the area was burglarized just before the deputy’s house.
