Columbus police say a double murder suspect was shot and wounded Wednesday by officers near Parsons Avenue and Kossuth Street. He was taken into custody shortly after the killings.

Columbus police have released the name of the officer who fatally shot a man suspected of rapes in the Linden area. Officer Ronald Moss who has been with the police for 27 years was investigating a series of rapes with the SWAT team when the shooting occured early Wednesday morning.
Columbus City officials broke ground Monday for an $8,600,000 firefighter training facility on the south side. The center will include a six-story, 1,672 square-foot structure for search and rescue training, high rise drills, and high angle rope rescue training.
