A two-week revocation hearing brought by the state’s department of agriculture against one of Ohio’s largest egg producers is wound up Friday. ODA says Ohio Fresh Eggs did not disclose in its permit applications the name of a man labeled a habitual environmental violator.
Hearings began today in a bid by the Ohio Department of Agriculture to revoke all of the permits it granted to the Ohio Fresh Eggs company. The company operates laying, breeding and pullet facilities near Croton and other sites in Hardin and Wyandotte counties. According to an agriculture spokeswoman Ohio Fresh Eggs in its permit applications failed to disclose that a manager had a troubled environmental record.
