In a surprise announcement, Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman said, Tuesday, he will not seek a fifth term. Coleman made the announcement alongside his cabinet and staff members and family and friends.
The Mayorâ€™s office maintains Columbus residents still support the public purchase of Nationwide Arena. Voters could decide the issue after a citizens group collected enough signatures to ask voters if they want to stop city payments on the Arena.
Columbus City Council is expected to take up campaign finance reform, tonight. A local group, which has proposed the initiative, says it wants more balance on the all-Democrat city hall board. But as WOSU reports, one expert said the proposal does not go far enough.
