Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman Unveils $766-Million Budget Plan

Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman laid out his blueprint for the next city budget. The longtime democratic mayor says the bulk of the $766-million spending plan will go toward the city’s police and fire divisions.

Ten million dollars will go toward the city’s rainy day fund, reaching the goal of $50-million one year earlier than planned.

That, Coleman says, will provide the city with financial stability.

The mayor’s budget plan now goes to Columbus City Council for a hearing.
