The Biological Sciences Greenhouse at OSU has been fortunate to have multiple bloomings of the Titan Arum, aka, the corpse flower. They have its smaller but also smelly cousin, the Voodoo Lily. From its bruise-colored bloom that resembles a corpse, to its stench of rotting flesh, this tropical flower masks its beauty to attract its pollinators.
With the capture Friday night of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the 19-year-old surviving suspect in the bombings at the Boston Marathon, the story moves into a new phase — one of trying to answer critical questions. In particular, are there more bombs and are other people involved?
After a massive Boston-area manhunt for the suspect in the marathon bombings, police closed in on a boat in a Watertown backyard where the 19-year-old was hiding. The dramatic resolution came shortly after police announced they did not believe the suspect was in the area.
The investigation continues. The FBI and other agencies are appealing to the public for help. It’s possible the key clue may be in a photo or video taken by a spectator.
