Two teens have been arrested following gunfire that wounded two people and sent shoppers scrambling in a central Ohio mall.

Columbus police say they are being held on charges of felonious assault after a 63-year-old man and 17-year-old male suffered gunshot wounds to their legs Friday afternoon at the Eastland Mall. They were treated at a hospital and police say their wounds weren’t considered life-threatening.

Police blame a clash between rival gangs that started over memorial T-shirts being made at a mall kiosk for fallen gang members.

Store employees around the mall quickly lowered security gates as shoppers took cover. Police were reviewing security camera videos and didn’t immediately release other details.

Eastland Mall was built in 1968 and was Columbus’ first enclosed mall.
