Holiday moods often run the gamut between joy and melancholy. And, an Ohio State University researcher says an individual’s great expectations have a bearing on whether someone smiles or frowns. College of Social Work Professor, Gilbert Greene, says the key is to identify whether stress is likely to help or hurt one’s mood.
Maggots In Food Among New Prison Food Complaints
Maggots in food, staffing shortages and multiple reports of running out of food are among new complaints facing the vendor that won the contract to serve food to Ohio inmates.
Reports obtained by The Associated Press through records requests found numerous problems reported since April, when the state prison system took the rare step of fining the vendor because of contract failures.
The records show 65 instances where employees of Philadelphia-based Aramark Correctional Services failed to provide food or ran out of it.
The records also show five cases of maggots found in food or the food preparation process, and several days when Aramark employees failed to show up for work.
Aramark says it’s the victim of an anti-privatization campaign and problems are declining.
