Columbus city leaders ponder what Cleveland winning the 2016 GOP convention means for Columbus’ chances of hosting Democrats the same year.

Columbus is one of six cities vying for the nod.

Experience Columbus CEO Brian Ross said he thinks the GOP’s choice of Cleveland will enhance the Capital City’s chances with Democrats.

“I would say from my standpoint that the RNC choosing Cleveland, Ohio as a ‘must win’ state has been heightened. So I would think it would put us in a better position,” Ross said.

Ross said Democrats plan to visit Columbus in August and announce a decision sometime after that.
