A tornado has destroyed several houses and farm buildings near Springfield, but no injuries have been reported.

Greene County residents say they saw debris swirling through the air and heard a roaring sound as the storm blew in.
The National Weather Service says it will send representatives to the area Thursday to survey the storm damage and determine if it was a tornado that touched down.
