Indiana-based artist Tasha Lewis transforms the Conservatory’s gallery with thousands of magnetic cyanotype butterflies printed on cotton fabric. Her blue butterflies hover in mid-air and seem to swarm the space, blurring the connection between the natural and artificial worlds.
Ringling Bros. Not Changing Columbus Show
Ringling Brothers says a Columbus show planned for this week will go on despite an accident that seriously injured nine people.
Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus has had this week’s four-day show at Value City Arena planned for months.
But that was before a platform collapsed during an aerial hair-hanging stunt in Rhode Island on Sunday.
Eight acrobats plummeted to the ground, also injuring a dancer below. The circus now blames the accident on the failure of a metal hoop that holds rope.
A press release says there will be no schedule changes in Columbus, and the company has three circus crews touring the country. The company says the crew in Columbus will not be the same that suffered the accident in Rhode Island.
