Ohio State officials are taking a more aggressive tone in an effort to combat a mumps outbreak on the Columbus campus.

In an e-mail sent out to students and staff members today, acting President Joseph Alutto said students, anyone who works in a healthcare facility and anyone planning to travel internationally should receive two doses of the mumps vaccine.

All others who work on or visit the Columbus campus should receive one dose of the vaccine.

Vaccines are available at the Student Health Center,University Health Services, OSU East and the After Hours Care at Morehouse.

OSU officials say while inoculation is not required for employment or enrollment, everyone associated with the University follow today’s guidelines.
