Suspects Plead Not Guilty In Grandfather’s Slaying
A central Ohio man and two other adults charged with aggravated murder and other counts in the slaying of his 84-year-old grandfather have pleaded not guilty.
Thirty-year-old Shaun Lawson, 20-year-old Kyle Robinson and 20-year-old Joshua Johnson appeared in court Wednesday in Circleville, south of Columbus. Police say Lawson was the likely shooter in the March 31 slaying of his grandfather, Thomas Whitson.
A neighbor in rural Pickaway County found Whitson dead in his chair with a gunshot wound to his head. Deputies said several firearms were missing from the house. The three adults were arrested, along with two 17-year-old boys.
The adults were indicted Friday in the case. The juveniles are awaiting a hearing to determine if they will be prosecuted as adults.
