Ford To Add 300 Jobs At Lima Engine Plant

Ford says it will invest $500 million and add 300 jobs at its engine plant in Lima so that it can begin making a new V-6 engine.
The automaker announced Friday that the plant in Lima will make the new 2.7-liter engines for the 2015 Ford F-150.
“I think this is a great addition, bringing 300 additional jobs to Ford Motor Company, said Adrian Price, the company’s director of global manufacturing and the former manager of the Lima Engine Plant.
“But it also has a broader impact on Allen County and also the surrounding areas within Ohio,” Price said.

Ford’s Lima engine plant employs about 900 workers.
The company announced earlier this month that it will build its Ford F-650 and F-750 trucks at its assembly plant west in Avon Lake, west of Cleveland.
Economists call Ford’s announcements part of a trend of automakers beefing up Midwest supply chains.
