The quality of police training academies in Ohio and the need for stronger statewide training standards are among the issues an attorney general’s committee is considering as it explores possible changes to the way Ohio trains police officers.
Columbus And State Make More Investments In Winter
The state and city of Columbus are making more investments in fighting winter weather. The state Controlling Board has approved $2 million to buy 30,000 tons of road salt for the state Department of Transportation.
ODOT has already used more than a million tons of salt this year. Columbus leaders, meanwhile, are earmarking $3 million to buy 25 new snowplows.
The city took heavy criticism after taking several days to plow many city streets.
