Ohio Authorities Seek Help Solving 15 Homicides
Ohio authorities are asking the public’s help in solving 15 mostly drug-related homicides that police say share common threads.
State and federal police and prosecutors say the killings, almost all in Columbus, date back to 1998 and often involved violent home invasions.
Authorities say loosely connected groups and associates may be responsible for the slayings while stopping short of identifying a particular gang or gangs.
They say some suspects are currently in prison on unrelated charges but more information is needed to make the case against them.
Columbus Police Chief Kim Jacobs says unsolved homicides affect victims’ families and the broader community. She says police want the crimes solved regardless of whether the victims were engaged in criminal activity at the time.
