Police say a 61-year-old tractor-trailer driver has been killed after a crash with a car on northbound Interstate 71 in Columbus.

Columbus police say the semi and a Mustang were both heading north when they hit, and the semi ran off the right side of the highway and into a guardrail and concrete sound barrier. The accident was at 6:14 a.m. EST near Gemini Place.

Police say Daniel Eisnaugle of Newark, Ohio, was dead at the scene. The Mustang driver was treated at the scene for a minor injury.

Police were still investigating the accident, which caused northbound lanes to close for hours Saturday. Traffic was reportedly moving very slowly through the area Saturday afternoon

God bless Mr eisnaugle in his quick thinking in trying to avoid hitting yet another Dumbass driver who had no business on the road. Check public records. Truck driver over 23 years no accidents or moving violations. Mustang driver to many to list. But because there’s no dash-cam let’s do what insurance companies do… blame the big paying guys who drive hundreds of thousands of miles SAFELY every year. Until some idiot on his way to a sale comes around.

There was also a witness at the scene who saw the accident happen and testified that the semi truck caused the accident. It’s so unfortunate that these things happen but the car driver in this case was not at fault.
