Boy Charged With Fatally Stabbing Jogger In Westerville Park
Authorities have charged a 16-year boy who lived in a group home with the fatal stabbing of a jogger in a central Ohio park.
Police in Blendon Township, northeast of Columbus, say 55-year-old Jane Juergens was killed Sunday night on a trail at Ridgewood Park. She had been stabbed multiple times.
On Monday police charged a 16-year-old boy with a delinquency count of murder. They say he lived in a nearby group home with three other boys.
According to the search warrant affidavit, a staff member of the group home called police Sunday night after the teen began acting suspiciously after a visit to the park Sunday afternoon.
Township Police Chief John Belford said Juergens and the boy did not know each other.
