Indiana-based artist Tasha Lewis transforms the Conservatory’s gallery with thousands of magnetic cyanotype butterflies printed on cotton fabric. Her blue butterflies hover in mid-air and seem to swarm the space, blurring the connection between the natural and artificial worlds.
ACLU, Jackson Schools Settle Lawsuit Over Jesus
The American Civil Liberties Union has settled a lawsuit against the Jackson City Schools over a depiction of Jesus displayed in the Middle School.
The agreement includes a mandate that the depiction be permanently removed from school property. It also includes a financial settlement with the plaintiff for damages and legal fees.
The decision was made after the school district moved the picture from the Middle school to the High School where school officials continued to bring it out for prayer meetings.
