State labor officials say Ohio employers added about 1,000 workers in September, and about 14,000 people left state unemployment roles.

Ohio veterans and fraternal groups have continued to set up electronic raffle machines in posts and lodges disregarding a warning from the state’s attorney general that the devices are illegal.
The opening of casinos in Ohio brought fears of an increase in compulsive gambling. So state law requires casinos to post problem gambling help lines in ads and in the casino. The law also includes list of problem gamblers who are banned from casinos. The list is voluntary and enforcement has holes.
