Bus Driver Charged In Death Of Children’s Hospital Researcher

The man who was driving a Nationwide Children’s Hospital shuttle bus when it hit and killed a researcher has been charged in his death.

62-year-old Karl Beem faces a charge of vehicular homicide for the May death of David Newsom. Newsom was technical director for the Biomedical Genomics Core in the Research Institute at the hospital.

Peter White, director of the Biomedical Genomics Core, was hospitalized

Police say Newsom and White were walking in the road when Beem lost control of the bus.
