ACLU Drops Lawsuit Over ‘Political Permits’
The American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio is dropping a lawsuit against the city of Columbus over political permits.
The ACLU sued Columbus for allegedly violating the First Amendment when it sharply increased the price of some permits, effectively killing the “Occupy Columbus” protest in front of the Statehouse.
The ACLU says the city has agreed to lower the cost of permits and make it easier to get permit extension.
