Holiday moods often run the gamut between joy and melancholy. And, an Ohio State University researcher says an individual’s great expectations have a bearing on whether someone smiles or frowns. College of Social Work Professor, Gilbert Greene, says the key is to identify whether stress is likely to help or hurt one’s mood.

Listen to the Story
A committee convened at Ohio State University for the first time Friday to begin the search for the school’s 15th president. Board of trustees member Jeffrey Wadsworth, the head of Battelle, is leading the search effort. Wadsworth says that there is absolutely no candidate in mind for the position.
“We have discussed no candidates whatsoever,” Wadsworth says. “This is an open search. I am absolutely committed to creating a process that will bring the best people forward.”
Wadsworth says the average length for a university’s presidential search is about 300 days. He says the committee will be assisted by an executive search firm which has yet to be hired.
