Ohio Army Soldier Dies In Afghanistan
The U.S. Army says a Fort Campbell-based soldier has died in Afghanistan after being wounded when a rocket propelled grenade struck his vehicle.
The Army says Staff Sgt. Sonny C. Zimmerman, 25, of Waynesfield, Ohio, died July 16, in Mushaka, Afghanistan.
Zimmerman was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, Fort Campbell, Ky.
