With harsh cold and snow forecast for much of the state in the next few days, officials in Ohio’s Department of Aging are urging precautions for older people who could be at increased risk of weather-related problems.
5 Indicted On Cheating Charges At Cincy Casino
Five people in the Cincinnati area have been indicted and are expected to be arrested after prosecutors say they cheated at Ohio’s fourth and newest casino.
The indictments were announced Tuesday, and Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph Deters says the five people were caught either adding or removing chips from bets after they knew the outcome of the game.
The five were captured on surveillance cameras in March and were identified using state records.
The state has caught about 10 cheaters each month since the first of four casinos opened in Cleveland a year ago.
State officials say cheaters not only steal from the house, but also Ohio.
That’s because the state collects 33 percent in gross revenue taxes from the casinos – about $203 million in one year.
