I believe the governor has learned that he needs to be more compassionate after the failure of SB5. Of course, the Tea Party types still cannot get their heads around compassion, or other concepts such as “government” or “history.” I have never felt that the local, state, or federal government was trying to control me. Does it ever occur to the Tea Party types as to who or what supports the paramedics who respond to a 911 call from a Tea Party believer’s family? When I see a burned out street light, I can call the Electrical Division of my city government, and they take care of it within 24 hours. In 2008 after the remnants of Hurricane Ike blew through central Ohio, our house had its electricity back on within 9 hours thanks to our city’s Electric Division. I know many communities that had to rely on AEP or their out-state-support had to wait days before their power was restored. And are Tea Party people ready to salt the street after an freezing rain like today?

I will gladly keep paying taxes so my government at all three levels can keep providing such beneficial services.
