Trade Group Starts Web Site For Ohio Oil, Gas Jobs
Ohioans hoping to tap into the booming oil and natural gas drilling industry have a new place to look for help.
It’s called eidohio.org, a Web site offering links to companies looking for help in Ohio’s Utica Shale region.
“One of the questions that we hear most commonly when we’re out doing these public forums and these public events is ‘where can we find jobs?’,” says Dan Alfaro, a spokesman for EID Ohio, the trade group behind the site.
“We just wanted to provide a link here so that folks who are out there looking for jobs in the industry have the ability to find them and have kind of a one-stop shop to look for employment opportunity,” Alfaro says.
Alfaro says there were only about 20 links on the site when it went live Monday morning. He says his group expects the state’s oil and gas deposits to put more than 200,000 people to work by the end of 2015.
