Columbus police say a Secret Service agent was involved in a downtown shooting late Thursday.

Police say a man flagged down officers near his office just south of High and Blenkner Streets to tell them he was a Secret Service agent and had just been involved in a shooting. The agent said he was pulling into a garage when he heard the attendant scream she was being robbed.

The agent reportedly fired into the car, but did not detain the two people inside and it wasn’t clear if the shots connected.
