Indiana-based artist Tasha Lewis transforms the Conservatory’s gallery with thousands of magnetic cyanotype butterflies printed on cotton fabric. Her blue butterflies hover in mid-air and seem to swarm the space, blurring the connection between the natural and artificial worlds.
New Columbus Police Chief Wants More Women On the Force
Columbus’ first female Police Chief believes her leadership position the force will help recruit other women to join the division.
Appearing on “All Side with Ann Fisher” today newly appointed Columbus Police Chief Kimberley Jacobs says women make up only 11-percent of the Columbus police force. She thinks it’s important to recruit more women.
“We can have a lot of different sizes and thoughts and all those kinds of things, but it adds an awful lot to our ability to deal with issues to having that variety,” she said.
Jacobs says on average women make up 14 percent of police departments nationwide.
