Three natural gas companies are investing $900 million to build two new plants in eastern Ohio.

Oklahoma-based Chesapeake Energy says on its web site that two facilities are planned in Columbiana and Harrison counties. One will process resources extracted from the Utica Shale region, and the other will store natural gas liquids such as propane.

Chesapeake says the facilities will be complete by next summer. The three companies involved in the project own mineral rights for some two millions acres around the state.
