Safe Rental Housing Out Of Reach For Many Ohioans

Rental housing in Ohio is cheaper than the national average, but itâ€™s still out of reach for some low-income workers. Thatâ€™s the bottom line of a national study from a coalition of housing advocates.
The report from the Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio and a similar group in Washington says for rent and utilities in a safe apartment, a family’s main earner should earn at least $13.43 an hour. But the report also says a typical Ohio renter makes $11.20 an hour.
