Columbus Woman Dies From Train Crash Injuries
Authorities say an Ohio woman has died from injuries she suffered when she drove around a gate at a railroad crossing and was struck by a train.
Police say 45-year-old Crystal Keller, of the Columbus suburb of Worthington, was pronounced dead at a Columbus hospital last night.
Her sport utility vehicle was hit by a train on Monday. Columbus police say in a news release that she disobeyed the railroad signals when the train was approaching a crossing on the city’s north side.
Sgt. Bruce Whittaker says the train struck the vehicle on the passenger side and pushed it, breaking through the gate on other side of the Norfolk Southern track. No one else was riding with Keller.
