Veteran journalist Carl Hoffman believes he’s solved one of the great mysteries of the 20th century. In 1961 at the age of 23, Michael Rockefeller – son of New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller and a member of one of the richest and most powerful families in America ¬– travelled to remote New Guinea in search of primitive art for his father’s new museum.
Gee Apologizes For Polish Comment
Ohio State University President Gordon Gee has apologized to a Polish-American group that criticized him for comparing the problem of coordinating the school’s many divisions to the Polish army.
In an email sent today, Gordon Gee told a spokeswoman for the Polish American Congress that his remark was “ill-chosen” and said that he realized at the time that he’d made a mistake.
The group had issued a statement yesterday calling Gee’s comment slanderous and a slur against a military that the group said has fought valiantly and effectively with the U.S. in Iraq and Afghanistan.
