Hilliard School Officials Call Drug Sweep Preventive Measure
Hilliard School officials today refused to say whether anything was found during a drug sweep of six city middle and high schools Tuesday.
School spokeswoman Amanda Morris says no arrests were made. A Hilliard police spokeswoman confirms no arrests were made nor charges filed but says the release of information about anything that was found is up to the school administration.
Schools Spokeswoman Morris says she cannot discuss details because they relate to student discipline concerns and the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act prevents her from discussing those details.
Morris says the district and the Hilliard Police Department conduct regular drug sweeps as a preventive measure. She says, “There has not been a problem in the district in the past and that’s the way we want to keep it.”
